Rent Covent Garden, Heartbeat of Central London

Charles Dickens, one of Britains most celebrated residents had a 200th birthday on 7 February 2012. Every year on this great novelists birthday we remember the man and the huge impact he created on London over 150 years ago, and still today with his timeless literary treasures. Traveling around London today you will encounter clues about the writer and where inspiration came to him that evolved into immortal stories like A Christmas Carol and David Copperfield. There is a small old pub in Leather Lane Market where a letter Dickens wrote to the pubs landlord remains sedately hung on a wall.

Recently Central London estate agent, LDG put a one bedroom flat at 4 Covent Garden on the market. This precise address, along with a few others in Covent Garden, motivated and influenced Dickens writings. He even described the area as one of Londons largest slums. How surprised he would be with its beauty today!

Covent Garden is one of Londons most desirable locations today. This statement is support by the Central London Estate Agent fetching some £645,000 for the property mentioned above. The flat features underground car park space, a balcony and use of the blocks porter system.

The property prices in the area are upscale and may be out of purchasing range but worth considering a Central London Estate Agent property to rent in Covent Garden. While the area has been equipped with modern renovations it has preserved its historical appearance. No doubt that today Charles Dickens would be rushing to rent in Covent Garden.

The property that housed a fruit and vegetable market for several hundred years is now one of Londons most patronized shopping centres and tourist attractions, like the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, owned and operated by world famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber since 2008. Covent Garden Estates is situated between Drury Lane and St. Martins Lane at the eastern end of the Westend. The shopping markets are divided into sections with the central square attracting tourists wanting to watch street performers. Performers entertain every day except Christmas for about 30 minutes at a time. Residents and those who rent in Covent Garden have the envy of living in an area vibrant with history, entertainment and shopping convenience.

Beecham Estates and Pill Limited owned the Covent Garden property from 1924 to 1928. Ownership was transferred to the Covent Garden Properties Company, LTD with the owners being the Beechams and several other investors. In 1962 the market and the bulk of the remaining properties were sold to the Covent Garden Authority for more than £3,900,000. During the 1960s increased traffic congestion around the market made business undesirable. The market relocated nearby in the 1970s which left the old buildings vacant. These buildings were purchased in 2006 by a development company for £421,000,000.

The developers entire Covent Garden Estates consists of 550,000 square feet (51,000m squared) and has a market value of £650,000,000.

The worlds largest Apple Store opened in 2010 at The Piazza surrounded by shops and stalls.
